Family law clients can attend the evening legal advice session three nights per week. The sessions run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights and no appointment is needed.
Clients should arrive between 6pm and 7:30pm and may wish to call the Centre the day they intend to come in to check whether a family lawyer will be in that night.
A family lawyer is available for day time appointments for clients genuinely unable to attend the evening legal advice sessions. In conjunction with the Griffith University Law School, the Centre operates an advice clinic staffed by students and supervisors with a focus on family law and general legal matters in alternating university semesters.
Limited assistance may be provided in completing court documentation in matters through the family law student clinic when it is running.
A Family Duty Lawyer Service is available to assist existing Caxton clients on the day of their appearance in the Family Court or Federal Magistrates Court.
